Tikhanovskaya arrived in the United States on July 18. She held talks with US President Joe Biden, the country’s Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the US leader’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan and the United States Ambassador to Belarus Julie Fischer. During the visit, Tikhanovskaya called on the United States to impose “the strongest” sanctions against the republic.

In turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus called the visit of the opposition leader to the United States nothing more than a tourist trip paid for at the expense of American taxpayers.
